Hypalon coated aramid fabric combines the following characteristics: Hypalon has excellent saltwater, UV, ozone, aging and cold oil resistance. It has high colorant stability. It also has good resistance to acids, mineral oils, chemicals and temperature. Hypalon ® has excellent resistance to oxidizing chemicals such as sodium hypochlorite, sulfuric, nitric and chromic acids. Limitations: not compatible with aggressive hydrocarbons, chlorinated ketones and aromatic solvents. Aramid is a fiber consisting of a long polyamide chain, containing amides and aromatic elements. It is infusible, does not melt, does not burn, does not soften, and has low toxic gas emissions. Some aramids can decompose around 500°C, and are thermostable up to 250°C.
