Westlake HIFOR SC74580 Clear LLDPE
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polyethylene (PE); Linear Low Density (LLDPE)

Material Notes: HIFOR Clear Polyethylene SC74580 polymer is a high strength and high clarity linear low density polyethylene designed for blown film extrusion that contains no slip and no antiblock. It does contain processing aid. Blown films produced with this resin exhibit good toughness, with exceptional gloss and clarity for a product of this density, yet film blocking is substantially lower than one might expect. Film stiffness is also higher than one might expect for this density. It works well in many shrink film applications. Gauge of test specimens 1.0 mil fabricated on a 6” die, 2.5” 24:1 L:D barrier screw, 2.4:1 BUR, 100-mil die gap, 15” frostline height, 450º F melt temperature, and 7.5 lb/hr/inch die output. Density results are on Base Resin. This product has some 21 CFR clearances. Application/Uses: Frozen food films- High clarity bread bags- Ice bags.

Samples tested at 23°C and 50% RH.
