Lanxess Uniplex 262 Plastic Additive
Categories: Other Engineering Material; Additive/Filler for Polymer

Material Notes: Uniplex 262 is a solid dibenzoate plasticizer, binder and modifier for a wide range of polymers. Uniplex 262 is finding applications in hot melt adhesives, cleaning material for hot melt roll coaters and powder coatings.

Chemical composition: 1,4-Cyclohexanedimethanol dibenzoate

General Uniplex 262 is a non-phthalate dibenzoate plasticizer, binder and modifier for a wide range of polymers. Uniplex 262 is characterized by a good compatibility with a large number of polymers such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), styrenics (SBS), polyvinyl acetate (PVAc), polyurethane (PU), and polyesters. Uniplex 262 is a white solid plasticizer supplied in ground form for convenience. The material, when exposed to heat, will liquefy and will later resolidify after the heat is removed. Uniplex 262 is used as hot melt adhesive modifier, is able to replace waxes and improves overall performance properties here, i.e. tensile strength and%elongation at break of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) compositions. When Uniplex 262 is used to clean hot melt coating and laminating equipment, the resolidified material can be disposed of as a solid waste.

Applications: Uniplex 262 is used as a plasticizer, binder and modifier for a wide range of articles. Typical applications are:

  • Hot melt adhesives
  • Pressure sensitive adhesives
  • Heat reactive thermal delayed tack applications
  • Cleaning material for hot melt roll coaters
  • Powder coatings
  • Latex applications
  • Thermoplastic processing aid
