AL 348 is a stabilized stainless steel which offers excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion following exposure to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range from 800° to 1500°C. The addition of columbium and tantalum stabilize against chromium carbide formation. For nuclear applications AL 348 has restricted cobalt and tantalum content. Tensile and hardness data below per ASTM A 240 and ASME SA-240 Information provided by Allegheny Ludlum Corporation. |
Specs for plate sheet & strip: ASTM A 240, ASTM A 240 M; ASME SA-240, ASME SA-240M; AMS 5510, AMS 5512 |
