Material Notes:	CAS Number: 97-72-3 Isobutyric Anhydride is a clear, colorless liquid with an unpleasant, rancid odor. It is miscible in any proportion with most organic solvents. The product hydrates with water and decomposes with alcohol. Isobutyric Anhydride may be used as an acylating agent, e.g. in the production of dyes, agrochemicals and other chemicals. It also may be used in the production of cellulose iso-butyrate and cellulose acetate iso-butyrate. Information provided by Celanese Corporation.
